Hey, the misunderstanding here is thinking that I'm choosing a side. If there is a side I would stand for what is good for most of the people that go without the basics in health care. "Our side", in the message simply meant I'm here in Canada looking into what's happening in the U.S.

It's true, that bringing everyone together is the best way yet there are those who are still kicking and screaming because they don't want to be a part of the whole.

Actually, the problem is "our side".
Once you have an "our side" then there must be a "their side" and then the contest begins.
Once one considers one's opinion morally superior to someone else's, you force that person into a defensive, adversarial stance.
Anyone who REALLY wants to be morally superior shouldn't pick a side or a party, and they should never slam the other side, they should instead find out what the other side really wants and why they are frightened, and help "our side" (whatever that is) make sure they get it.
Then we're all on the same side and we can devote our energy to doing good works instead of fighting over whether we should have red or blue (or orange) signs on front lawns.
The worst thing that ever happened to government was the political party system, as it allowed the uninformed to pick a side and 'root for a team', without investing in educating themselves, or ever working towards a solution.

You know anything to do with change scares people and then they go into resistance mode. On our side, we can see the good that people need now. The big, bad, President Obama is scaring the big lobbyists like the insurance companies and HMO etc, etc.

I can tell you, even though I don't watch tv, or read fashion magazines, I still feel pressure to wear the right thing, lose weight. I'm trying not to let it get out of hand, (though the LeSportsac are a little crazy lol) I still eat whatever I want, (Which is why only have 2 pairs of jeans that still fit) I try to think of it as doing it for myself, because I do need to lose weight for my health, and I do want to wear make up and high heels and feel pretty.
